Take aways from my current love of 4th edition D&D

1.  You can have a completely functional party of heros without a single user of the magical disciplines.

2.  The system promotes success, if you are canny, even without aid of magical healing or damage.

3.  4th edition focuses on 'Heroics' and less on 'real world simulation', which, in the end, I admit i would much prefer.  Sure Middle earth is a spectacular land, but its the Exploits and depth of its inhabitants that are the long draw.  yes, it is quite interesting to learn about Gaffer Gamgee, BUT, if he never goes on some heroic adventure (willing or unwilling) there isnt alot of story to tell, thus, the system is pointless.

4.  Are you familiar with the Starw Wars D20 SAGA edition of rules?

I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on this, because these discussions are going to shape how I contribute to your D20 work, as I am preparing to propose you scrap much of the Core material in favor of newer material.
