The Eä Role Playing Game System Basic Ruels, is a basic system for Tolkien RPG - Tolkien Role Playing Gaming in Middle-earth and beyond. All the notes and changes from the latest game testing have now been merged into the latest version of the Character Sheet and the Player's Guide. Changes are still being made to the GM's manual. The latest Players Manual and Character Sheet are now available for download.

Game testing session completed, significant updates coming for Eä RPG Basic Rules

We had a productive game testing session Thursday. I am merging all the comments, tweaks, updates, and fixes. Should have these available for download around Tuesday, August 4th as updated Players Guide, updated GM's guide, and updated Character sheet. Watch for them! Also a lot more work completed on the Standard and Advanced Rules, Should have updates in a week or two. Oh, and also releasing the Tolkien Moot 2011 campaign "Against All Their Enemies" at the end of the week (around August 9th or so) to include Ea RPG Basic Rules stats, and Standard Rules, as well as MERP, 2nd Edition AD&D, 3.5 Ea d20 RPG, and the brand new "The One Ring" RPG by Cubicle 7. So anyone using any of those systems can use the campaign/adventures right away, or easily convert to other systems from any of those included. Lots happening! Namarie!

and feedback in the forum...

Just an FYI for those who might not have known, there are TWO separate
email lists for Ea RPGS. One is for the d20 rules, and the other is for
the Ea RPG System rules. Many people are on the d20 list, and only a
handful currently on the Ea RPG System list. Last week I had the first
play testing session of the Ea RPG Basic System, and made many updates
accordingly.

If you wish to be on the other list as well, either ask me to add your
email to that list, or send a blank email to:

earpgs-subscribe@earpg.com

Look for the confirmation email and reply to it.

Then you should get a "welcome to the list" email.

On the Ea d20 books, I did some more clean up on the Races & Cultures
text. I need help from folks to get this tome to the final stage though.

Where the more significant update for Ea d20 is the Magic In Middle-
earth tome. It has been significantly cleaned up to be easier to
understand the various formulae for casting, difficulty checks for
casting, casting failure, fortitude spell cast check failure, etc. I
added some tables, plenty of additional text, explanations, and
examples.

I also integrated some of the documents that used to be separate files
into the single "Magic in Middle-earth" Ea d20 rulebook.

Additionally, I more clearly defined the "required" core rules for
magic, and the listed all the others that are purely optional for DMs
and players to decide if they want to use or not.

I am debating whether to make the whole Spell Points thing optional as
well. Feedback appreciated.

Please check them out, and provide feedback, especially any play testing
results.

Namarie!
--
-Hawke
Ea Role-playing Game Systems dedicated to gaming in Tolkien's universe
and beyond...
http://www.earpg.com

Roleplayer since 1979
Gamemaster since 1984
